- Make sure Supply Chain Guru is not running.
Save the license files SCGURU.LIC and xpauth.ini in an easy
to access directory (i.e. desktop). Note: do not save directly
to designated location below. This may cause problems.
- Locate the Supply Chain Guru program files.
This is typically C:\Program Files\Supply Chain Guru (depending
on what drive Supply Chain Guru is installed on).
- Right click the SCGURU.LIC icon on your desktop
and choose copy.
- Paste the license file anywhere in the C:\Program
File\Supply Chain Guru directory. A message may appear asking
if you would like to replace the file already there. Choose
Yes. Repeat this process for the xpauth.ini file.
- Click Start >Supply Chain Guru >Supply
Chain Guru to start the program. Go to Help >About Supply
Chain Guru to double check if the license is functioning properly.
*Note - These two licenses are not co-dependent. Supply Chain
Guru will work with just the SCGURU.LIC. The xpauth.ini is
for large scale optimization.

When the free demo version of the software
is downloaded from the website, a demo/academic license for simulation
and optimization is automatically included with the download.
The simulation demo/academic license is limited
to 10 sites and 10 products, but the limitations of the optimization
license are different.
The demo optimization license has a limit of
2,000 constraints, 5,000 variables + constraints, and 300 integers,
but we estimated that to be about 10 products, 100 sites, 100
demand functions (at each customer node), 300 sourcing policies,
11 inventory policies, and 300 transportation policies.
